A successful power two wheeler event at Althorne, saw the road safety team working in partnership with Essex Police to educate riders and promote the Bikesafe courses. 

 

Three police motorbike riders were ready to carry out assessment rides and a police officer nearby was directing the bikers into the forecourt  for us to engage whilst having a burger and a coffee.

 

Starting off quietly, then the day soon picks up, largely thanks to the sun shining, brining us a steady stream of bikers, a lot of good humoured banter and serious discussions about safety on the roads, positioning and other road users.
 

All three police motorcyclists were kept busy with ride outs, debriefs and along with the rest of us, having in depth conversations and giving advice when requested. Discussions were made with 108 members of the public, resulting in 18 ride outs and assessments with a further 17 engaging in enquiries for the Bikesafe courses.
