A total of 53 vehicles were checked resulting in; 
  • 8 mechanical prohibitions issued
  • 1 of these was found to be driven against a VOSA prohibition, the drivers were dealt with by police with the issue of a £400 fine and an immediate prohibition to ensure the defects were repaired before the vehicle could be driven again
  • 12 further mechanical defects were discovered
  • 311 drivers hours infringements
  • 3 drivers hours prohibitions
  • 1 driver arrested for drinking and driving, charged and taken before the next available court
  • A total of £2,440.00 in fines/deposits taken
     

Wednesday 23rd June 2010
M25 Thurrock Moto Services

A total of 46 vehicles were checked resulting in;

  • 23 mechanical defects found of which 9 were serious enough to receive prohibitions
  • 226 drivers hours infringements
  • 3 drivers hours prohibitions
  • 9 other offences - of which 2 were in relation to overweight vehicles which received prohibitions until the excess weight removed
  • 1 vehicle seized for no insurance
  • A total of £2,150.00 in fines/deposits taken

Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th May 2010

A total of 66 vehicles were checked across the two days resulting in;

  • 352 drivers hours infringements detected
  • 6 drivers hours prohibitions for breaches of drivers' hours legislation 
  • 20 mechanical defects resulting in 14 mechanical prohibitions
  • A total of £3,390.00 in fixed penalties/deposits
  • 2 other offences detected
  • 1 vehicle seizure
     

Tuesday 11th May 2010
A12 Boreham

A total of 47 vehicles were checked resulting in;

  • 409 drivers hours infringements detected
  • 5 drivers hours prohibitions for breaches of drivers' hours legislation 
  • 6 mechanical prohibitions
  • A total of £2,200.00 in fixed penalties/deposits
     

Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th April 2010

A total of 76 vehicles were checked over the 2 days resulting in;

  • 29 mechanical defects of which 24 were serious enough to merit a prohibition
  • 620 drivers' hours infringements detected
  • 4 drivers' hours prohibitions issued
  • 2 other offences
  • A total of £4,780.00 in fixed penalties/deposits

Friday 5th March 2010
A12 Boreham
 

  • 9 mechanical defects resulting in 6 mechanical prohibitions
  • 522 drivers hours infringements resulting in 2 drivers hours prohibitions
  • A total of £3,720.00 in fixed penalties/deposits
  • 5 other defences were detected, including anincident on the A130 where a foreign lorry struck a car and failed to stop.
