Court Hearings
If the recorded speed is such that a CONDITIONAL OFFER OF FIXED PENALTY is not appropriate, or a CONDITIONAL OFFER is made, but the conditions are not met, a file will be prepared for court proceedings.
If the matter proceeds to court a summons will be issued to the driver showing the date of the hearing. If you are found guilty at court a fine of up to £1000 and 6 penalty points could be imposed upon conviction. The judge also has discretionary power to impose a period of driving disqualification. Please note:Each form issued sets out the relevant options and gives details of actions required, the above notes are intended to assist in this process. Any mail without the correct postage will be rejected and returned to sender.
