If the recorded speed is such that a CONDITIONAL OFFER OF FIXED PENALTY is not appropriate, or a CONDITIONAL OFFER is made, but the conditions are not met, a file will be prepared for court proceedings.
If the matter proceeds to court a summons will be issued to the driver showing the date of the hearing. If you are found guilty at court a fine of up to £1000 and 6 penalty points could be imposed upon conviction. The judge also has discretionary power to impose a period of driving disqualification.
