All About Pack 2
This is the second pack in a series of materials that are produced by Essex County Council as a tool to help you to teach your child about Road Safety.
This pack is specifically designed for Year 3 children as they make the transition from infants to junior school.
The pack contains a parent’s guide which gives you advice on how you can help your child as a pedestrian, cyclist and a car passenger, together with an activity book to encourage your child to think more about road safety.
Schools may be able to teach your child many elements of road safety within the curriculum. Your child might also get the opportunity to reinforce this in a practical way, by attending a pedestrian training walk organised by a Road Safety Officer for your school.
However only you can provide the vital real experiences that your child needs as they start to become more independent and start to take more responsibility for keeping themselves safe.
We hope this pack helps you and your child to learn and practice these skills safely.
The resource is available as a PDF download. (Links & Resources section)
Schools are able to request copies for Year 3 pupils as a resource to reinforce road safety in PHSE to this group of children who are becoming more independent and may wish to make short journeys alone.
