Essex County Council's vision is to create an environment within Essex where people of all ages and abilities feel able to cycle safety, conviently and pleasantly.

It is our aim to give people in Essex the opportunity to cycle for health, speed and freedom.

We encourage parents to take responsibility for their child's cycling safety and the best way to improve a child's cycling skills is to take part in a cycle training course. Many primary schools support Bikeability and the Essex County Council Cycle Training Scheme, which is for children who are ten years of age and over.
