"Roadster" (formerly called "Roadrunner") Events

This is a multi agency initiative involving Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Driving Standards Agency, Trading Standards, Essex Young Persons Drugs and Alcohol Service and local driving schools.

Previously known as Roadrunner, and now rebranded as Roadster, is a whole day presentation delivered to students at six form colleges and further education establishments aged 16 to 18 years. Each agency highlights its concerns about the three major factors which contribute to KSIs amongst this group, speed, seat belts and drink/drug driving.

This is an ongoing initiative which is delivered in most districts and is currently being reviewed to standardise the events across the county with the possibility of developing specialist sites.
