Operation Cerberus Operation Cerberus is an Essex Police initiative which is run during the summer months to address the unacceptable driver behaviour of young drivers who attend various “cruise events” throughout the county. It concentrates on the major “A” roads which are used by this group to reach the cruise events and speeds of up to 135 mph have been detected on the A127. The operation currently concentrates on enforcement but has different phases in it including excess speed, driver behaviour (both travelling to events and at events), anti-social behaviour (both travelling to and at events) and construction and use offences (such as illegal lights, exhausts and tinted windows).
