Welcome to the Essex Casualty Reduction Board, Casualty statistics section... The government have set all local authorities targets to reduce KSI casualties (the number of people killed and seriously injured) on their roads.
The Essex Casualty Reduction Board (ECRB), in partnership with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Thurrock Council, is working hard to reduce casualties and achieve these targets.
In Essex, Southend-On-Sea and Thurrock the objective is to reduce the number of casualties by the end of 2010 to fewer than:
Essex – 712 KSI casualties
Southend-On-Sea – 69 KSI casualties
Thurrock – 90 KSI casualties
This represents a different reduction for each authority and the performance of each may also be measured by an average of 2008, 2009 and 2010 or by further stretched targets agreed by the authority.
