Education & Enforcement Day
An education and enforcement day took place along the Ongar Road(A128).
The Police had spotters who were positioned on the Ongar Road targeting vehicles whose drivers were either not wearing a seatbelt or using a hand held mobile phone. They also pulled in various small commercial vehicles for Trading Standards officers who were also in attendance on the day.
The Police had spotters who were positioned on the Ongar Road targeting vehicles whose drivers were either not wearing a seatbelt or using a hand held mobile phone. They also pulled in various small commercial vehicles for Trading Standards officers who were also in attendance on the day.
The end results from the day were;
98 vehicles were stopped
71 people fined for not wearing a seat belt
14 people fined and given 3 endorsable points for using hand held mobile phones
in addition to these numbers;
in addition to these numbers;
1 vehicle was seized
22 people visited the road safety exhibition unit to be given an educational talk to explain the danger of their actions
1 person was issued a fixed penalty notice for a speeding offence
13 cancellation notices were issued by Trading Standards
