Community Wheels Business Day

DSV in Harwich invited us to run an in-house company educational event, speaking directly to those who are driving on company business.

Sound health and safety driving practices and a good safety culture were promoted covering topics such as;

Accidents
Seatbelts
Mobile phone use
Distractions
Drink Driving
Drug Driving
Driving on company business

Driving is the most dangerous work activity that most people do.
More people are killed or injured in at-work road accidents than in all other occupational accidents put together.

Common causes of these unnecessary tragedies include: speeding, drink driving, non-seat belt wearing, careless driving, business journeys and inexperience.

Employers have clear duties under health and safety law to manage occupational road risk in the same way that they manage other health and safety risks.
