Education & Enforcement Day

An education and enforcement day took place at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood on the 18th March 2010.
The Police had spotters who were positioned at Brook Street and they pulled the vehicles into the Holiday Inn Car Park where more Police and Road Safety were waiting.
Police Community Support Officers were on hand to direct the vehicles through the main car park of the Holiday Inn so that we did not disturb any of the guests staying at the hotel.

The day resulted in;

68      vehicles were pulled over for not wearing seat belts
5        drivers were given endorsable tickets for using mobile phones
2        vehicles were seized for no insurance
37      of these drivers were sent into our exhibition unit to be given an educational talk to explain the danger of their actions and encourage them to wear their seat belts and not to use mobile phones

Our thanks to the Holiday Inn for allowing us to use their car park and facilities to carry out this important work.
