Road Safety and Essex Police worked alongside Year 5 pupils of Warley Primary School to assess the speed of the vehicles and try to educate the drivers of the dangers of not keeping to the speed limit.

 

If a driver was found to be travelling at excessive speed the police stopped the vehicle and the pupils would talk to the driver, showing or reading out work which they will have already completed the week before. They also gave the driver leaflets outlying the dangers of speeding.

 

Nine drivers were pulled over with speeds from 36 – 44 mph. The pupils were excellent about encouraging the drivers not to speed and outlining the consequences of their actions.
