Driving for Better Business Businesses across Essex are set to benefit from a year long programme of seminars, designed to help them improve their driving credentials.Driving is the most dangerous work activity that most people do, with more people killed or injured in road accidents whilst working than in all other occupational accidents put together.
The free seminars and workshops will manage the risks associated with driving for work and are a direct response to the needs of Essex’s business community.
The county wide seminars, which range from two hours to a full day, will cover topics such as writing policies, eco-driving solutions and addressing the health and safety issues surrounding young drivers. The full range of seminars and workshops can be viewed at in the Driver section of the website, under the Business heading.
County Councillor Norman Hume, Chairman of the Essex Casualty Reduction Board and Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation said: “These invaluable seminars can help businesses to safeguard their employees and ensure that they comply with all the legal requirements surrounding road safety."
“If you’re an Essex business and you’d like to keep up to date with the latest on road safety policy, then come along to one of our free seminars. There are a range of dates and locations to suit you and it could ultimately save an employee’s life.”
