Motorcyclists are 28 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured than a car driver.
16.5% of crashes involved a motorcycle performing an overtaking manoeuvre (DfT, 2004).
11% of motorcycle crashes are rear-end shunts. This group contains a disproportionately high level of mopeds and scooters.
